Year 3 had a fantastic morning out at the Word, where they had the opportunity to listen to live music. We loved the band ‘Different Voices’ and really enjoyed being able to join in with the singing and dancing.
Year 6 visited West Boldon Lodge to listen and join in with the local South Tyneside band, Different Voices. It was an amazing opportunity for pupils to listen to a live band and discuss instruments and see and hear them being played by talented musicians. Many of us had a brilliant sing along and dance and thoroughly enjoyed our music trip. We were also given the opportunity to explore the wooded area and take part in a bug hunt as well as toast marshmallows on an open fire. It was a wonderful morning.
Year 3 enjoyed their sports day.
The children enjoyed a session with Mr O during the day.
The whole school enjoyed a fabulous assembly led by Mr. O, the drumming teacher. He talked about the drums he had brought with him and explained where they came from. He taught everyone to chant a rhythm, stamping their feet to certain beats. Some lucky children were also chosen to play the drums, while everyone else counted the rhythm. We all had a great time.
Science Council met as normal this Monday but with an extra special treat as we had Katie from Science Buddies visiting. She is so impressed by our Science Council that she brought in some of her amazing animals to show us – we loved meeting Einstein, the African giant snail and even made some sweet smelling bath bombs too. Thank you Katie!
To kick off National sports Week we enjoyed a visit from 3Sixty Bike stunt team. The children had a great time watching them perform their stunt show.
On Thursday, we took 2 teams of Year 3 children to take part in a Tag Rugby Festival at Boldon School. The children had some tricky matches and Team A drew four of their games and lost two, finishing in joint third position of their group.
Team B won all six of their matches and were the winners of their group, taking home medals.
The children had a fantastic morning and enjoyed participating in the festival.
Year 3 children enjoyed investigating forces with Professor Brainstorm. We took part in lots of practical activities which helped us to learn more about how forces work in everyday life. It was great fun!
