This week in Science Council we all met together and created chemical reactions between bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to create some spooky potions. We also had a special visitor, Mrs Hayward, who came in to meet us and help.

On Tuesday 22nd October, Year 3 were visited by ‘The Stone Age Guy’ and we found out more about life in this period. We handled some artefacts and discussed their uses and we had a try at drawing our own animals using charcoal. We all found the session very interesting.
On 26th September, we celebrated European Day of Languages. We talked about the importance of learning other languages and how we make others feel welcome, even if they speak languages other than English. We then held a poster competition linked to theme of ‘Languages for peace’. Our entries were amazing and it was really hard to select the winners.
Here are the winners from each of our classes . . .
Meet our School Council members for the academic year 2024-2025.
Science Council have been using dog biscuits to explore vertebrates and recreate skeletons of various animals. It was good fun thinking about bone size and positioning using such a creative resource. Year 5 and 6 even studied x rays and tried some trickier vertebrates like frogs and lizards.

We celebrated Roald Dahl Day on Friday 13th September. Staff and children were encouraged to wear yellow and pay £1 for the Dahlicious charity. As well as finding out about Roald dahl himself all lessons were linked to a book written by Roald Dahl. A competition was also carried out where children designed their own chocolate bar.
Congratulations to all the prize winners!
