16th March 2023S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Following the theme for this year’s World book Day ‘You Are a Reader’, our competition asked pupils to create a picture of themselves reading a book.  It could be in their favourite place like on the sofa or in the garden.  They could also use their imagination and draw a picture of a place they dream of reading a book – like in a rocket or on a sunny beach.

There were lots of amazing entries, but our winners were:

Science Council Brush Up!

16th March 2023a hayward

At school today and as part of our celebration of Science this week, Science Council counted out and gave every pupil in the school a 3 pack of bamboo toothbrushes gifted by a local company in South Shields. The bristles are made from plant based material and are sustainable products. Connect with your family and discuss the importance of dental hygiene and how sustainable products help our planet.

The NWG Network  are committed to the fight against criminal or sexual child exploitation and supporting victims and their families who are subjected to the horrors of exploitation in all forms. They believe that if they can make more people aware by joining together on  National CE Awareness Day, we can improve the chances of young people being heard.

Year 5 Visit to the Centre for Life

2nd March 2023S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Centre for Life in Newcastle! We took part in the ‘Our Place in Space’ workshop, which involved watching a fantastic show in the planetarium – it was the perfect way to round off our Earth and Space Science Topic. The children loved all the ‘hands-on’ activities they could explore in the different zones of the Science Centre and impressed the staff with their intelligent and curious questions.
