Year 6 visited the Life Science Centre in Newcastle and had a fabulous day. The day was split into different activities, which included a super fun opportunity to go ice-skating on the outdoor ice-rink. We also participated in a ‘Light’ workshop linked to our science topic currently being studied where we used light sources and lasers to direct the path of light between walls and bouncing off mirrors to light up a disco ball as well as seeing how rainbows are formed. We also visited the Planetarium, watched a show, and looked around the Space Zone and the Wow Zone of the Science Centre. It was a very interesting and exciting trip.

We celebrated European Day of Languages. We talked about the value of learning different languages and about the variety of languages spoken across Europe. We even tried saying hello in lots of different languages.

As part of the day, we held a competition to design a ‘t-shirt’ to promote the occasion. We had such fabulous entries from across the school, but here are the winners – I think you’ll agree that they are pretty wonderful!

22nd November 2023S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

4CL had a fantastic visit to Sunderland Winter Gardens.

We started off with some drama where we pretended to be parts of the rainforest. We studied the different layers and did a trail around the rainforest area of the museum.

We completed some sketching in the rainforest and then we added colour onto our pictures back in the education room of the museum.
