Year 6 Kwik Cricket!

24th May 2019S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

On Monday 20th May, Year 6 took part in a ‘Kwik Kricket’ tournament at South Shields cricket grounds. It was the largest festival of its kind ever to be run with over 40 teams playing and competing.

Our school took 3 teams of 10 and played in different rounds against a variety of local primary schools from around the borough. Each team had 8 players in the match at one time. We enjoyed fielding and batting experiences but perhaps most of all the chance to work in teams together which allowed us to progress our cricket skills and grow in confidence throughout the day.

All teams played well and represented the school with sporting etiquette and skill. Teams C and B both won two matches and lost two, Team A won three matches and lost their final one by 5 points after a controversial interjection by another cricketer. Despite this, all players kept their heads held high and enjoyed a sunny day out playing cricket.

Year 4 Tennis

22nd May 2019S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

16 year 4 children attended Boldon Tennis Club to participate in a tournament against 3 other schools. Our behaviour and attitude was excellent throughout the tournament and our A team were lucky enough to place 2nd overall.

Girl’s Football Team.

Our Year 5 Girl’s Football Team played their final matches at Mariner’s Park. Overall we finished third in our division and have had a fantastic time developing our passing and dribbling skills and learning how to play together as part of a team. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Trotter for donating his time to help coach our team!

Bench Ball Tournament in Year 3!

On February 14th 18 Year 3 children took part in a Bench ball tournament at Boldon School. 3KJs team were fantastic and became the champions on their court. 3CL’s team also played brilliantly and ended up coming second on their court. All of the children showed great sportsmanship.

Netball!

13th March 2019S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Members of our Netball team took part in a Netball Tournament at Temple Park on Tuesday 12.2.19. This was our first set of competitive matches so far this academic year. We played against teams from Westoe Crown and Hebburn lakes and played extremely well. Overall, we finished in 2nd position after losing our first match 5-0 and winning our other matches: 15-0, 1-0 and 7-2.

Miss Archer was very impressed with the way we played together as a team and the level of sportsmanship and skill that was shown throughout the afternoon.

Hoops4Health!

17th January 2019S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

On Friday 11th January, 2 teams of Y5 children visited Temple Park to take part in Hoops4Health run by the Newcastle Eagles. Both teams played extremely well, with Biddick One winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 2 and Biddick Two winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 2. But, the standard of basketball was exceptional and we didn’t make it into the play-offs. Well done to everyone involved – excellent sportsmanship, determination and skill.
