As part of multi-cultural week year 6 have been studying China. As a year group we went into the hall, listened to Chinese music, watched a ‘Chinese Dragon Dance’ and tasted some Chinese food.
(Vegetable Spring Rolls, Duck Rolls, Chinese rice, Chow Mein Noodles and Prawn Crackers).
In our English lessons, we have been writing and performing poetry. We had great fun performing some raps which we had written about ourselves, thinking about rhythm and rhyme.
As part of our celebrations for Roald Dahl’s birthday, we took part in a drama workshop based on Willy Wonka in which we had to pretend to be things such as ‘Oompa Loompas’. We had great fun!
As part of our study of the Ancient Greeks, year 6 received a visit from ‘That History Bloke.’ He told us all about how the Ancient Greeks lived and we thought about how they have impacted on the modern day world, including the English language. He showed us lots of Ancient Greek artefacts and some of us even got the chance to dress up!
Year five children have been receiving rugby coaching . They have enjoyed learning new skills and working as a team.
Thank you to all who donated cakes and attended the coffee morning. It was a great success. £282 was raised for this worthy cause. Thank you for all your continued support.
