On Tuesday 18th September, year 4 children had a fantastic day at Jarrow Hall. We learned about stories that the Anglo Saxons liked to tell and listened to the story of Beowulf. We re-enacted an Anglo Saxon battle and enjoyed learning more about village life in a replica Anglo Saxon village.
To celebrate National Fitness Day, pupils across the country were encouraged to move for 10 minutes at 10 am. We certainly enjoyed our ‘active break’ from lessons which got our feet moving and our hearts pumping!
On Roald Dahl Day we took part in many lessons related to the texts written by Roald Dahl. We also came to school wearing yellow and paid £1 for Roald Dahl’s charity. As part of the day children took part in a competition where they had to design a bug that could travel with James on the ‘Giant Peach’. They had to also write some sentences stating why that bug was worthy of being chosen to travel on the peach (what qualities or talents it had). Here are our winners.
Today we say goodbye to our Year 6 children. We wish you well. What a fantastic Year 6 you have been. An amazing set of children who produced fantastic SAT results. Good Luck in your new comprehensive schools.
Year 6 ended their time at Biddick Hall Junior School with a party! They enjoyed an afternoon of fun and games. Good Luck everyone!
A great morning was held by all. Lots of children won prizes for their academic excellence.
Biddick Hall Junior School has recently received its reaccreditation for the Healthy School standard. We were told that, ‘Biddick Hall has an impressive offer of active and sustainable travel around the local area. This is complemented by a daily commitment to Wake Up Shake Up and an excellent offer of physical activity.’ Mrs Hayward and Mrs Sandy came to school to present it in an assembly.
Ten Year 5 pupils enjoyed a morning at South Shields School participating in a maths team event against other schools. It was extremely well organised and a great morning was had by all.
Well done to Red House who won this years sports day!
