Some of Year 4 enjoyed a ‘Skip into Xmas Festival’ at Temple Park.
This week in Science Council club we made sherbet using different powders like citric acid and icing sugar, flavouring and a choice of dippers.
4AW enjoyed our recent trip to Sunderland Winter Gardens as part of our geography topic. We began the day by finding out why rainforests are important to us. After that, we learnt about the different layers of the rainforest and which animals and plants could be found there. We had fun taking part in a rainforest treasure hunt and learnt lots of new facts about the topic. After lunch, we studied the rainforest plants and created leaf artwork. A fabulous day was had by all!
This week in Science Council we made hover boards using old CDs, fruit shoot lids and balloons. We had fun testing the hover capabilities!
4CL visited the Sunderland Wintergardens. We investigated the layers of the rainforest thinking about animals and plants.
We walked around answering questions to follow a trail. This was followed by sketching and colouring the plants.
Afterwards we went into Mowbray Park and completed questionnaires with members of the public about how they use the park.
We all had a fantastic day.
All the children enjoyed a performance of Robin Hood.
We all had a great time!
To celebrate Space Week this week, Science Council made their own rockets that use air pressure to take off and fly into the air!
Erupting volcano fun in Science Council club. Look at this fabulous task we did at club: we made play dough volcanos and then created our own chemical reaction to make it look like lava erupting – it was very cool!
Science Council had fun at club doing some chemistry: they worked with acids and alkalis in the form of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to create a reaction and change of property.
