On 23rd April, 4NW visited the Open zone at The Word. We had a great time using Wedo to build lego characters and make them move. We also filmed in front of the green screen to make a program all about Yellowstone National Park.
Well done to all our pupils who achieved a bronze or silver attendance award this morning. What a great turn out of parents and carers also!
On Tuesday 2nd April we held our Easter Assembly. Each year group had a question they had been working on relating to Easter.
Year 3 –Â What do Christians remember on Palm Sunday?
Year 4 –Â Why is Lent such an important period for Christians?
Year 5 –Â Why is The Last Supper important to Christians?
Year 6 –Â Why are Good Friday and Easter Sunday the most important days for Christians?
Children shared stories, pictures and work they had been working on in class to answer their question.
Class 4NW enjoyed performing a poem from A Midsummer’s Night Dream as part of our Shakespeare workshop.
As part of World Book Day our school took part in a competition to design a national book token. Here are our winners!
Year 4 took part in an amazing lego workshop. We built a lego city and then used electrical circuits to make the buildings light up and vehicles move. We all had a fantastic afternoon.
The children have all been answering different questions in RE about Christmas and what Christmas means.
Children in Year 3 have been answering the question, How and why is Advent important to Christians?
Children in Year 4 have been answering the question, Why do Christians call Jesus the light of the world?
Children in Year 5 have been answering the question, What are the themes of Christmas?
Children in Year 6 have been answering the question, What do the gospel stories tell us about the birth of Jesus?
They have found many things out and taken part in many creative activities.
On Tuesday 18th September, year 4 children had a fantastic day at Jarrow Hall. We learned about stories that the Anglo Saxons liked to tell and listened to the story of Beowulf. We re-enacted an Anglo Saxon battle and enjoyed learning more about village life in a replica Anglo Saxon village.
Year 4 children enjoyed their sports day!
On our visit to the Open Zone we enjoyed writing scripts about Yellowstone National Park. Once our scripts were ready we went into the recording studio and made our own television programme.
We also used Lego We2 to make and programme robots.
