Cooking salmon as part of their DT project in Year 6

5th July 2024S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Some year 6 cooked today using salmon as their main ingredient as part of their Design and Technology project. The children researched and found recipes such as pomegranate salmon, teriyaki salmon, salmon burgers and salmon pasta dishes. They developed skills of following steps in a recipe, grating, peeling, chopping, dicing, boiling, marinating, cooking salmon and presenting their dishes. Other pupils from the other two classes joined 6GA to taste the dishes with some very positive comments and empty plates left at the end of the afternoon.

World Music Day at Biddick Hall Junior School.

27th June 2024S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

The whole school enjoyed a fabulous assembly led by Mr. O, the drumming teacher. He talked about the drums he had brought with him and explained where they came from. He taught everyone to chant a rhythm, stamping their feet to certain beats. Some lucky children were also chosen to play the drums, while everyone else counted the rhythm. We all had a great time.

Science Council met as normal this Monday but with an extra special treat as we had Katie from Science Buddies visiting. She is so impressed by our Science Council that she brought in some of her amazing animals to show us – we loved meeting Einstein, the African giant snail and even made some sweet smelling bath bombs too. Thank you Katie!
