Year 5 were lucky enough to be visited by Richard ‘That History Bloke’. We learned all about the saga of Ragnar Furry Legs, we handled Viking replica artefacts and some 1000-year-old oyster shells that Vikings would have actually touched! We learned about armour and weapons and why certain things had particular purposes. We played a Viking game of strategy and learned about the Viking alphabet. Did you know Bluetooth is named after Harald Bluetooth who was the leader of Denmark and Norway and the symbol is made up of the Viking rune symbol for H and B put together? We had a great day and learned lots!
