Year 5 enjoyed a visit to The Open Zone this week where they learned 3D Cad Design using the Design Software, Tinkercad. Children were tasked with coming up with a design for a Mars Rover, thinking carefully about how their robots would navigate the rugged terrain on Mars. They also used Scratch to program an animation, which included a soundtrack to a scene from Beowulf, using features like looping and repeating sounds. We all had a fantastic day and particularly enjoyed a demonstration of how the 3D printer works.
