RSE Consultation
As you may be aware, The Department for Education have announced changes to Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). We are therefore obliged to comply with the updated requirements which come into force in September 2026. This means, that alongside everything else, we have been in the process of reviewing our RSE curriculum and policy, so we can be sure our provision meets the Government criteria and is appropriate for our children based on:
- Age
- Physical and emotional maturity
- Religious and cultural backgrounds
- Special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
- What pupils need to know to be healthy and safe in school, in their personal relationships and in the wider world
At Biddick Hall Junior School we value the education provided by the RSE and PSHE curriculum in preparing our children for the wider world, their place in it and to be respectful, tolerant and accepting of all. We would very much welcome your support and comments, so we would like to share with you a parent and carer consultation document.
We need your feedback to help us do this. Here is how you can help:
We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to read the draft policy below and then share any of your views via the parents response form at the bottom of this page. Or, you can come into school and look at the policies in person.
