This week, pupils enjoyed an inspirational visit from GB Pole Vaulter, Sally Scott. As part of our annual sponsor to raise money for sports equipment for our school and support the ‘Sports for School’ charity, children completed a circuit of four exercises and were then treated to a motivational assembly by Sally Scott herself, where she recounted her amazing experience at the Commonwealth Games.  The children enjoyed learning about this exciting sport and understand just how important hard work, a positive attitude and resilience can be in athletics.

Year 4 had an amazing visit from That History Bloke Richard. We had a great session learning all about Egyptian life. We had great fun finding out how to mummify a body which included removing major organs from the body and storing them in Canopic Jars.  We even had our own class Pharaoh. We handled artefacts and finished our session writing Egyptian hieroglyphics. We are now Egyptian experts.

We had an amazing time – children were given the opportunity to take part in an archaeological dig to find objects from the past; they were put through their paces in soldier training by the Centurion, Maximus and also sketched artefacts from the museum to produce a frieze for school.

Bike 3Sixty as part of Healthy Lifestyles Week!

17th July 2017S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

The whole school thoroughly enjoyed a stunt show display from Bike 3Sixty as part of our healthy lifestyles week.  They reinforced the importance of safety, particularly wearing a helmet when riding a bike, and the performed lots of stunts which we were very impressed with.  After the session, some children took part in a skills session with Ian and Grant.   Children were taught some basic stunts and skills; some children were even taught how to perform a wheelie properly.  Everyone had great fun.
