Fitness Factor Challenge!

9th February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Fitness factor challenges for the 6th and 7th February were to challenge someone with how many times you can throw a ball up, clap once and catch it in 60 seconds and also to make up a new game. Here, Sophie and her sister are playing a ‘the floor is lava obstacle course game’ they developed.

Children’s Mental Health Week in Year 6!

5th February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

As part of Children’s Mental Health week, we expressed ourselves in a variety of ways.  We thought about how ‘amazing’ we all are and, after completing some sentences, we decorated the word.  After reading the story of ‘Beautiful Oops’, we discussed how mistakes are a good thing as they help us learn.  We changed an ‘oops’ into something beautiful.  We also thought about how emotions could be represented on masks and faces.  We had a great week exploring how to express ourselves!

Zen patterns in Year 6!

5th February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

As part of our work in Children’s Mental Health week, we thought about doodling ‘Zen patterns’ and how this form of expression could help us with our emotions. We found it really relaxing, listening to some classical music whilst doodling.

When we had finished our doodles, we chose two of them which we liked the best and used printing ink and polystyrene tiles to print an alternating pattern.  It was great fun and we were really proud of our work!

Year 4 art work!

5th February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

In year 4 we have been studying an artist called Sokari Douglas Camp. She is a sculptor and her work is influenced by her Nigerian background. Many of her pieces are made from welding materials and reused waste materials.

Physical fitness at home!

3rd February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Chloe in 5BA is enjoying her PE lessons at home. She completed a ‘Super Strength’ circuit using milk bottles in place of weighted balls. Physical Activity is great for helping us look after our Mental Health. Well Done, Chloe!

Also well done to Hailie and her little sister from 5LR completing their fitness challenges at home!

Kara in 4NG inspired by A Beautiful…OOPS!

3rd February 2021S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Here are more photos of Kara making pictures for A Beautiful…Oops

Kara really enjoyed and had lots of fun making lovely pictures out of mistakes.

Kara’s favourite picture was creating a photo of her 8 week old puppy Rosie who she will be bringing home this weekend.

Kara also created a picture of someone going down a slide and landing into a sand pit

Kara made a picture of lightening out of one mistake and made it really stand out by using rhinestone jewels

Well done Kara – keep up the good work at home!
