As part of their geography fieldwork year 6 pupils visited the coast and completed a variety of fieldwork tasks.
15 of our year 6 children took part in a cheerleading festival at the Urban factory. We firstly practiced our skills, such as; forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and leaps. We then learned a cheer routine. At the end of the day we performed the routine for the other 6 schools that were there. We had a great day.
As part of their design technology lessons year 6 pupils have been working on a project titled ‘Come dine with me.’ The children have to make a 3 course meal, a starter with peppers, a main using salmon and a dessert using pineapple.
These are our started using peppers!
A group of year 6 pupils took part in a Hoops4Health event at The Newcastle eagles Arena – they enjoyed their day.
We all enjoyed the great tricks and skills of the 3Sixty Bicycle Display Team.
Year 6 visited the word and completed some fun activities linked to our DT and computing units about Microbits. We created our own trailer as a group, an advert linked to our Microbit and programmed a Lego model called Spike.
The whole school enjoyed a week on discussing careers and what they wanted to be when they grew up. They were given a sum of money per class and asked to think about what they could make and sell as a class to try and make the most profit. The children learnt a lot of new skills and then sold their goods. 5LR made the most profit! Well done!
A fabulous first night was had by all!
Here’s our Science Council Summer update.
We are continuing to grow and nurture sunflower plants as well and help look after pet tomato plants for each class. We continue to meet each week and this term we are also attempting to complete a #30dayswild challenge throughout June. Look out for photos of what we are getting up to and if you would like to join in and try this at home with your family, here is a tick list for you to check off.
Let Ms Drake know if you complete any of the challenges and feel free to find her at lunchtime to show her or tell her about what you have been up to linked to science and this challenge.
