Year 6 visit the Open Zone at The Word.

30th September 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Year 6 visited the Open zone to complete some green screen filming after writing a script about democracy and voting rights in Ancient Greece which they are studying in history lessons.

Whilst there they also completed a robotics workshop using software called Spike and lego pieces which they could attach to motors and run programmes through one they wrote the code themselves. The children had a brilliant time with some excellent work achieved by everyone.

Roald Dahl Day

30th September 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

We celebrated Roald Dahl day on his birthday (13th September). His favourite colour was yellow so we all tried to wear something yellow.  During the day we discussed some of his books and completed activities linked to these.  We held a competition linked to ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ which involved us designing our own unique sweet/chocolate bar.

Year 6 visit the Centre of Life as part of their science curriculum.

9th August 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

As part of our final year 6 science unit, we have been studying light. We finished off our project with a visit to the Centre of Life where we took part in a ‘Light Fantastic Workshop’ which was excellent and then rounded up many other science topics previously taught during our time at the junior school. We watched a science theatre show and visited zones such as: Hello World, Space Zone, Brain Zone and Creativity Zone. We also visited The Planetarium and watched a ‘We are aliens’ show which was fascinating. We had a brilliant day out on our final primary school trip.
