On Wednesday 5th July, choir took part in the Big Sing at the Sage. We had a great time and loved performing the songs that we had practised with a live band.
The girls rounded off an amazing year of football by participating in the Year5/6 Girls Wild Cats Football Festival at Power League Gateshead. The girls competed in various fun challenges and matches and once again, did us proud.
As part of our DT project we created a meal that had to incorporate pineapple. We researched recipes and chose one that we would like to make. We had to think carefully about the ingredients that would be required and the time to would take to prepare and cook it. We had great fun and made a wide range of different things.
We went to West Boldon Lodge to sing-a-long with a live band as part of South Tyneside’s ‘Different Voices’ project. Before the band’s performance, we sat around a campfire and toasted marshmallows. We also made a name necklace using natural materials.
Year 6 enjoyed an afternoon of sports.
Our SSCO enjoyed meeting Lucy Turner who came to lead our sponsored event.
We enjoyed a fantastic visit from GB Heptathlon Athlete, Lucy Turner. The children first completed their sponsored circuit, before enjoying an inspirational assembly by Lucy. The energy throughout the afternoon was electric and the children asked her some super questions. Thank you to everyone for your support and remember, you’ve got one more week to get your sponsor money into school.
