School writing competition

6th July 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

When I last spoke to pupils in our school, many of them said that their favourite lessons were the ones where they were able to write freely about anything they wanted.  Therefore, we decided to hold a school writing competition where children were asked to write a mini saga – max 100 words about anything, in any genre.  Some classes watched video clips that pupils could use as a stimulus if they were struggling to come up with ideas.

There was one winner chosen per class and all winners received a book.

Here are our winners:

Keevie Blackburn 3CL

Hannah Burden 3AE

Alex Coulson 4NW

Ella-May Grant 4NG

Sara Bainbridge 4KJ

Chloe Evans 5BA

Tyler Griffiths 5LR

Harvey Young 6FD

Gracie Smith 6GD

Carter Harn 6JO

Year 3 rugby at Boldon School!

29th June 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

Year 3 had a great afternoon at Boldon playing Tag Rugby.

The weather stayed fine which made it really enjoyable running, catching, taking tags and scoring tries.

Everyone played really well and showed good sportsmanship to others.

The Year 3 staff were very proud of them all.

Careers and Enterprise week!

29th June 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

The whole school enjoyed a week on discussing careers and what they wanted to be when they grew up. They were given a sum of money per class and asked to think about what they could make and sell as a class to try and make the most profit. The children learnt a lot of new skills and then sold their goods. 5LR made the most profit! Well done!

Take up the #30dayswild Challenge!

7th June 2022a hayward

Here’s our Science Council Summer update.

We are continuing to grow and nurture sunflower plants as well and help look after pet tomato plants for each class. We continue to meet each week and this term we are also attempting to complete a #30dayswild challenge throughout June. Look out for photos of what we are getting up to and if you would like to join in and try this at home with your family, here is a tick list for you to check off.

Let Ms Drake know if you complete any of the challenges and feel free to find her at lunchtime to show her or tell her about what you have been up to linked to science and this challenge.

Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

25th May 2022S Admin (Biddick Hall Juniors)

We enjoyed dressing up in red, white and blue. We learned about lots of events during the reign of Queen Elizabeth and then enjoyed recreating portraits of the Queen from a variety of times during her time as Queen. To end the day we enjoyed having a tea party.
