Children enjoyed dressing in red, white and blue and enjoyed a variety of activities as part of their celebrations.
Year 3 had a really interesting visitor in school. He told us lots of interesting facts about the Romans as an introduction to our new History topic.
We were lucky to see different objects and clothes that would have belonged to a Roman soldier.
We drew our own Roman shields.
We went outside and pretended to march like Roman soldiers. We had a pretend battle between the Romans and Celts using shields and balls.
Year 3 had such an informative and fun afternoon.
Year 3 had a visitor in to teach them about Roman Britain. They enjoyed learning about where in the Roman Empire people stationed at Hadrian’s Wall came from. They learned about the equipment a Roman legionary would carry. They learned about Roman battle tactics. They had a fantastic time!
There were lots of smiling faces in our Easter Egg Raffle!
3CL went to visit Roma Italian restaurant in Sunderland. We sampled some delicious Italian food as a final ending to our topic of Europe and Italy. The children enjoyed pizza, garlic bread, lasagne, chicken pasta and potato skins. This was followed by a selection of delicious cakes.
All children had a fantastic time and showed exceptional manners and behaviour.
Mrs Lynn was so proud.
We enjoyed taking part in this worthy cause and came to school dressed in red and paid a pound to the charity. We took part in activities also. We had a great time!
Year 3 had a fantastic workshop with Professor Brainstorm. We learned about sound and light and had fun while doing it!
Following the theme for this year’s World book Day ‘You Are a Reader’, our competition asked pupils to create a picture of themselves reading a book. It could be in their favourite place like on the sofa or in the garden. They could also use their imagination and draw a picture of a place they dream of reading a book – like in a rocket or on a sunny beach.

These are our TT Rockstars of the ½ term! The child from each class who has made the most progress in their ‘Gig’ score (a set of 100 multiplication questions) from September until now were awarded a special certificate in our Friday morning Achievement Assembly. Some children achieved a perfect score of 100/100 on their latest gig and they received a special golden award. Knowing your multiplication tables is so important as it helps you to be fluent and efficient when working mathematically. I wonder who will be the winners of next half term!
