Year 6 have enjoyed designing and making waistcoats to fit a bear mascot in each class. The theme was Christmas and there was a lot of fun and focus involved in this technology project. After designing our waistcoats, we selected the material we wanted to use considering colour preferences and colour combinations. We then used templates as stencils for the body of the clothing, chalk and scissors as well as thread, pins and needles to join and create seams. We decorated the waistcoats with an applique Christmas design and added buttons for finishing touches. We had a great time making these and hope you like our final products too.
Well done to 6FD who had the most weekly class attendance awards this half term and each received a sweet treat!
We had 4 happy children who won an Asda voucher for themselves and their parents when they were picked out for having 100% this half term.
That History Bloke visited year 6 dressed as an Ancient Greek citizen and told us lots about the Ancient Greeks. We got to look at many artefacts, wrote our name in Greek using real ink and played a Greek game.
We enjoyed a visit from ‘That History Bloke,’ as part of our Viking history topic.
Well done to all our winners this term
Year 3 went to Palace Green Museum to learn about prehistoric Britain. We had lots of fun finding out about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
